GPSR for art prints, cards and stationery: the low-risk checklist

Good news: prints, cards and stationery are low-risk products, so the documentation can be short. But GPSR still applies to physical products sold to EU consumers, and marketplaces still ask for the basics.

The minimum you need

  1. Manufacturer details on the product or packaging (back of the card or print sleeve) and in the listing.
  2. An EU responsible person if you're based outside the EU.
  3. A batch or type identifier, e.g. a print run code.
  4. A short risk analysis: paper cuts, small parts on embellished cards (glitter, gems, ribbons), frames with glass, and inks if the product is for children.
  5. Warnings only where relevant, e.g. embellished cards: "Not suitable for children under 3 years. Contains small parts."

Proportionate, not zero

A one-page risk analysis that honestly concludes the risk is low, with the few measures you take, is far better than nothing. It's also what your EU representative will ask for.
