GPSR on Amazon, eBay and Shopify: listing information checklist
Article 19 of the GPSR covers distance sales. Every online offer to EU consumers must clearly and visibly show:
- the manufacturer's name, registered trade name or trade mark, postal and electronic address;
- where the manufacturer is not established in the EU, the name and contact details of the EU responsible person;
- information to identify the product, including a picture, its type and any other identifier;
- any warning or safety information to be affixed on the product or accompanying it, in a language easily understood by consumers in the member state.
Amazon
Amazon collects manufacturer and responsible-person details and safety information through Seller Central (account-level regulatory compliance plus listing-level attributes, including safety information and images of labels/warnings). Missing details can lead to listings being suppressed in EU stores.
eBay
eBay added manufacturer, responsible person and product safety fields to listings for EU-visible items. Fill them for every listing visible to EU buyers.
Shopify and your own website
No marketplace enforces it for you — but Article 19 still applies. Add a "Product safety" block to each product page with manufacturer details, EU responsible person and warnings.
Generate listing-ready safety text for every marketplace and language.
